Designer
Sacramento,
United States
Type: Full-time
Pay: $25/hr + performance bonuses
Growth Path: Senior Designer or Specialized Lead
You’re a designer who knows what works.
You’ve done more than just drop cabinets into a room. You understand layout, flow, and why certain decisions matter. You’ve worked in interior design CAD, but more than that—you’ve worked with people. You listen, you explain, and you help customers feel confident about their space.
This is a role for someone who wants more than a desk. You’re not just drawing designs. You’re guiding decisions. You’re coaching Sales, leading project direction, and building kitchens that actually work in the real world—not just in CAD.
About Us
At Anova Cabinet & Stone, we help homeowners, contractors, and developers create spaces that feel good to live in. We focus on good product, clear communication, and strong service — and we do it in a way that makes people say, “that was easy.”
We believe your work shapes who you become. That’s why we invest in people, not just software. Our team is built on clarity, humility, and ownership. We don’t want someone to just do the job. We want someone who takes pride in doing it right.
What You’ll Do
You’ll lead the design side of larger, more complex projects. When a Sales Associate brings in a client who needs layout, flow, or material guidance, you’ll step in as the lead designer and customer point of contact.
You will:
- Own kitchen and bath designs using 2020 Design Live
- Meet with customers to review needs, suggest layout options, and explain tradeoffs
- Catch red flags early — spacing issues, plumbing conflicts, appliance constraints
- Guide customers through revisions while balancing aesthetics, code, and real-world feasibility
- Work closely with Sales to provide design-based leadership and support
- Delegate quoting, follow-up, and documentation to assigned Sales when appropriate
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager for complex technical or product constraint questions
You won’t be doing everything alone. You’ll be part of a support system where Sales handles what they can — and you step in when design leadership is needed.
What Makes You a Fit
You’ve seen bad designs. You know how much it costs the customer and the team. You’re the kind of person who checks measurements twice and asks smart questions before moving forward.
You’re not just skilled — you’re thoughtful. You guide with confidence but still know when to pause, clarify, and listen.
You:
- Have experience designing kitchens using 2020
- Understand the real-world limits of cabinetry, appliances, and site conditions
- Know how to explain technical limits to a customer without overwhelming them
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Work well with Sales, bouncing quotes and details back and forth as needed
- Stay organized across multiple projects
- Ask for help when needed, especially for complex build or plumbing-related questions
Your Experience
- 2+ years in kitchen and bath design
- 2020 Design proficiency required
- Familiarity with construction basics: clearances, plumbing and electrical constraints, material compatibility
- Experience working with contractors or remodel teams a plus
- Sales or customer service background helpful
- Team leadership mindset preferred
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, Sunday–Saturday (one day off)
- Hourly pay + commission based on closed jobs
- Paid training and development
- Growth toward Senior Designer or technical specialty roles
